GHR Ooty run routes
We’ve received a lot of questions asked about the routes, elevation details and sites of significance at Go Heritage Run – Ooty and this post has the answers! Our thanks to our venue partner Lawrence School for giving runners access to their lovely grounds!
Go Heritage Run – Ooty: 5K Route
Start / Finish Point: Lawrence School, Lovedale

Start Timing: 7AM
The 5K route starts at the sports ground within the Lawrence School, Lovedale campus. Runners will run past the Italian Gothic styled main school building, then exit the school, immediately re-enter it near the Lovedale Church and head westward toward Grass Pitch and the school’s cross-country track. The terrain for this section of the run is trail and there are some elevation changes to watch out for. Finish the loop and make your way back to the school ground where breakfast and your finisher medal will await you!
Go Heritage Run – Ooty : 10K Route
Start / Finish Point: Lawrence School, Lovedale

Start Timing: 6.45 AM
The 10K route starts at the sports ground within the Lawrence School, Lovedale campus. Runners will run past the Italian Gothic styled main school building, then exit the school, immediately re-enter it near the Lovedale Church and head westward toward Grass Pitch and the school’s cross-country track. The terrain for this section of the run is trail and there are some elevation changes to watch out for. Finish the loop and head towards the school’s exit once again. Run across the Nilgiri Mountain Railway line – a UNESCO World Heritage site – and head in a north-easterly direction along a very scenic route that ends at Valley View point. Stop, take in the breathtaking valley view, turn around and head back to the railway crossing, and make your way back to the school ground where breakfast and your finisher medal will await you!
Go Heritage Run – Ooty : 15K Route
Start / Finish Point: Lawrence School, Lovedale

The 15K route starts at the sports ground within the Lawrence School, Lovedale campus. Runners will run past the Italian Gothic styled main school building, then exit the school, immediately re-enter it near the Lovedale Church and head westward toward Grass Pitch and the school’s cross-country track. The terrain for this section of the run is trail and there are some elevation changes to watch out for. Finish the loop and head towards the school’s exit once again. Run across the Nilgiri Mountain Railway line – a UNESCO World Heritage site – and head in a north-easterly direction along a very scenic route that ends at Valley View point. Stop, take in the breathtaking valley view, turn around and head back to the railway crossing. Turn right, and head down Lovedale Road for a few kilometers, take a U-turn and retrace your path back to the Lawrence School where breakfast and your finisher medal will await you!

Lucky guys ! I used to run these routes back in 1952 – 1957. And we finished with two water jumps.

The routes are hilly. What are the cut off times for the races?

We have emailed all runners this and more info to the registered email (please search for emails from [email protected] and mark them as not spam), reproducing below.
Bib Distribution Details:
Time: Saturday June 2 from 10.00AM to 6.00PM
Venue: Aventura Fern Hill, South Hobart Road
Google Maps Location: https://goo.gl/maps/SAV29dYKv9C2 (Autos typically charge INR 100-150 from the Bus stand)
Mandatory: Valid Photo ID. Do not print run confirmation emails if you are collecting for yourself.
Kindly plan to reach the bib distribution venue before 6 PM. We will not be able to entertain special requests for bib pickup after 6PM or on run day.
Authorize pick-up – In case you cannot make it to bib pickup before 6PM on Saturday, please authorize friends/family/fellow runners to collect on your behalf. The authorized person will have to carry prints/photocopies of your run confirmation email/sms, your valid photo ID and his/her valid photo ID. Print/photocopies are mandatory in this case.
