Ooty being a major tourist hill station in Tamil Nadu is also well connected by buses, both by Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) and the Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation (TNSTC). These bus journeys are quite comfortable and takes only 7-8 hours/ an overnight journey to reach the Ooty bus stand. One can also reach Ooty by driving through the reserve forest area and viewing the change of scenery along the route which is truly a beautiful road trip to undertake. There are various routes to reach Ooty from Bangalore; one of the beautiful stretch is via Mysore. On reaching Gundlupet, proceed driving through the Bandipur Wildlife Sanctuary and then through the Mudumalai Wildlife Sanctuary. Another route from Bangalore is to drive through Chamrajanagar Forest Area. Coimbatore is nearly 88 kms and one can reach via NH181 and Kochi too can be undertaken in 6-7 hours or less through NH544 connecting the Coimbatore- Gundlupet Highway.
