GHR Hampi 2016 Finishers Medal – Lotus Mahal

At Go Heritage Runs, we like to weave in local arts, crafts, culture and heritage into the runner experience and what better way to do that than in your Hampi finishers medal and run t-shirt?

The run T-shirt for Go Heritage Run – Hampi features a monkey print in the Lambani embroidery style and now, we’re ready to reveal what the finisher medal looks like – a laser-cut rendering of the Lotus Mahal temple in Hampi. The tag is a Banana fibre rope made by local women at a workshop in Anegundi. Would you agree that it can’t get any more eco-friendly than this?

The Lotus Mahal, as we noted earlier,  is a two storeyed pavilion on a stepped plan said to be inspired by the beauty of a woman. This Mahal is one of the few secular or non religious structures in Hampi and is speculated to have been a meeting place for women of the royal family. All participants at the 5K, 12K and 21K runs in Hampi this weekend will get one of these lovely souvenirs – we hope this will tempt you to come take a run vacation with us this Republic Day weekend!
