Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary
Also known as Vembanad Bird Sanctuary attracts numerous migratory birds throughout the year, it is a paradise for bird watching and wildlife enthusiasts. One can spot local birds such as waterfowl, cuckoo, egret, heron, cormorant, moorhen, darter, and brahminy kite, as well as the migratory Siberian crane among many other migratory and indigenous species. Some of the migratory birds come from the Himalayas, and a few from Siberia. Take a refreshing walk inside the forest among chirping birds and nature sounds to the watchtower.
