Travel to Khajuraho

Khajuraho’s temples registered nearly 350,000 tourist footfalls in 2015 – both domestic and international – so if they could make the trip to gaze at the town’s Indo-Aryan architectural wonders so can you! Read this post for guidance on hotels and travel details if you’re making a trip to Khajuraho.

Airways:

Khajuraho (HJR) has an airport close to 5km from the town, Air India and Vistara have flights from Delhi almost every day with a stopover in Varanasi (VMS).

Railways:

Khajuraho railway station is about 8km from the town and is connected by rail from Delhi, Indore and Bhopal. The UP Sampark Kranti a daily, overnight train from Delhi reaches Khajuraho early morning, giving you ample time to take in a full day of sightseeing.

Khajuraho is also connected by rail now to Bhopal by a daily train and Indore with a train 4 days a week. For booking, please check irctc.co.in.

Roadways:

Khajuraho is located 50 kms away from Chattarpur, the nearest large town – from which buses onward to Jhansi ply. We’d recommend driving down only if you’re already in Madhya Pradesh or thereabouts. Bhopal is an 8 hour drive away.
