- Trains from Khajuraho to Jhansi: There are 4 trains that travel between Khajuraho and Jhansi and the Udaipur City Express (19665), which is the fastest of them, does the distance in just over 4 hours.
- Trains from Gwalior to Jhansi: This is a very popular train route and the journey takes under 2 hours. You can even buy a ticket to Jhansi once you reach Gwalior station.
- Trains from Delhi to Jhansi: Again, a very popular train route with 80+ trains traversing this stretch every day
- And finally, take a cab to Orchha which is 20kms away. Cabs are available at Jhansi railway station and expect to pay anywhere between INR 800- INR 1500 depending on when you arrive at Jhansi station. For added peace of mind, ask your hotel in Orchha to arrange a cab for you.
The Inexpensive way: Take a train to Jhansi + Bus or Auto to Orchha

- Trains from Bangalore to Jhansi: Over 10 trains travel between Bangalore to Jhansi and the fastest train, the Rajdhani Express (22691) takes 28 hours to get to Jhansi. Trains from Hyderabad to Jhansi: This is a very popular train route and the fastest train, the Rajdhani Express (22691) takes 17 hours to get to Jhansi.
- Trains from Mumbai to Jhansi: Over 25 trains travel between Mumbai and Jhansi and one of the faster trains is the Mumbai – Delhi AC Superfast train (22109) which takes just over 14 hours.
- Trains from Delhi to Jhansi: Again, a very popular train route with 80+ trains traversing this stretch every day.
- And then, take a cab, bus or auto to Orchha.

- Autos to Orchha are also available at the Jhansi Railway Station. Expect to pay INR 300 for the trip.
- Direct buses to Orchha are available at the Jhansi bus stand which is 4 kms away from the Jhansi Railway Station. These buses run every couple of hours and have higher frequency in the mornings and evenings. Share autos to Orchha are also available at the Jhansi Bus Stand. Expect to pay no more than INR 40 for the 20 km ride to Orchha.
