Travel – Getting to Bidar
Hyderabad is the closest major city and has the nearest major airport to Bidar. However, Bidar is well connected from Pune, Mumbai and Bangalore via train and bus.
Hyderabad
Buses from Hyderabad ply almost every 30 minutes and take about 3.5 hours to reach Bidar. There is one KSRTC Volvo bus which leaves from MGBS at 6 am, rest are regular government buses. If you are living in or around Hitec city, you might take a bus from BHEL/Lingampally instead of going all the way to MGBS.

Bangalore
Bangalore is connected with Bidar through two daily trains (link) and many buses starting in the evening from Bangalore (link).
Pune/Mumbai
Taking a bus from is the most convenient option as it is just an overnight journey from Mumbai/Pune to Bidar (7 hours); look for tickets on redbus to book – link.
Accommodation – Staying in Bidar
There are several hotels in Bidar suiting a range of budgets – however we must warn you that some of the hotels may not be up to the mark in upkeep and maintenance, especially those in the lower budget range. Please make sure to inquire about the quality before booking – the list below is for your information only.

Blackbuck Resort (premium)
This resort is named after the free roaming blackbucks that abound in the surroundings.
These are basically jungle lodges and resorts built in Hinnikeri reserve forest and on the banks of Vilaspur Lake. The resort has its rustic cottages perched on the slopes by the shore of the lake. This resort offers activities like hiking, trekking, fishing and bird watching. However, the resort is 18 km away from the city but that’s what keeps the resort away from the cacophony of the city life!

Sapna Continental Hotel (mid-range)
This hotel is located near the famous Gurudwara and is close to the railway station and bus station. This hotel is on Udgir road. Rooms are spacious and all the amenities are available. Food needs to be ordered from other restaurants. Hospitality and service provided are both good. The hotel also schedules sightseeing tours and appoints a tourist guides.

Hotel Krishna Regency (mid-range)
Hotel Krishna Regency is located near the new bus-station. All the main monuments in Bidar are just about 2 km away from this hotel. Rooms are simple, cosy and affordable. All basic amenities including car parking are available. The restaurant does not have a kitchen so you will have to order food from outside. However, good room service makes is easy!

Sapna International Hotel (mid-range)
The hotel is located in the city and is considered one of the best in Bidar. The hotel is exceptionally well known for its food especially for the variety of non vegetarian food. The rooms they offer are comfortable and clean. However, the prices are bit expensive compared to that of other hotels in Bidar.

Hotel Shiva international (mid-range)
This hotel is located at the centre of the city. The hotel is very economical and the rooms are very clean and tidy. All the basic amenities are available and the room service is very quick. However the hotel does not have a restaurant of its own but the food can be ordered from outside. Also there are many eateries at the walking distance from the hotel.

Hotel Mayura (economy)
Hotel Mayura is located at the bus-stand and is one of the well-known budget hotels in Bidar. The hotel provides both vegetarian & non vegetarian food and is equipped with power back-up for air conditioners.

The famous Gurudwara in Bidar also has accommodation and you might want to check that if you are looking for spartan but clean rooms.
