We’ve received a lot of questions asked about the routes, elevation details and sites of significance en route and this post has the answers. Our thanks to IHCN for their inputs on these run routes. The routes include traversing along a stony trail with elevation changes so do exercise caution.

Start / Finish Point: Badami Museum (near entrance to North Fort) The 5K run commences near the Badami museum and heads in a north-easterly direction along a stony trail with some elevation changes. In the first 1 kilometer, you will see the Badami Fort to your left, and the Agastya lake, Bhuthnatha temple and the 6th century Badami cave temples to your right. If the weekend turns out to be rainy, there’ll be a waterfall that can be seen too. Further along, as you gain elevation, you will see some stunning views of Badami town and its surrounding hills. Turn around at the 2.5K mark and retrace your path back to the Badami museum to collect your very special Badami-inspired finishers medal!

Start / Finish Point: Badami Museum (near entrance to North Fort) The 10K run commences near the Badami museum and heads in a north-easterly direction along a stony trail with some elevation changes. Continue heading in an easterly direction until you arrive at a canopy of trees leading to the 7th century Mahakoota Temple. This marks the 5K point and the end of the stony trail. Cross the temple complex and head in a southward direction along a route that’s got everything – fields and hills all around and a canopy of trees above. Expect to cross a couple of small villages en route to the 10.5K turnaround point. Turn around and retrace your path back to the Mahakoota Temple, the stony trail and finally make your way back to the Badami museum to collect your very special Badami-inspired finishers medal!

Still haven’t signed up for Badami?
