There are various flights from many of the cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Bangalore to reach Coimbatore. One can also take a direct flight to Bangalore which is connected with most of the major cities across the globe. Several trains are available from nearby cities like Coimbatore, Mysore, Bangalore that connect to Mettupalayam. On reaching the railway station, you can hire buses or taxis to reach Ooty. Another fun way of getting to Ooty by train is boarding the heritage Nilgiri toy train which goes uphill moving through thick forests. There are various routes to reach Ooty from Bangalore; one of the beautiful stretch is via Mysore. On reaching Gundlupet, proceed driving through the Bandipur Wildlife Sanctuary and then through the Mudumalai Wildlife Sanctuary.
