Most go for pleasure. But some go for a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.goheritagerun.com\/ooty-coonoor-nilgiri-mountain-rail\/\" target=\"_blank\">free heritage treat traveling<\/a> on the Nilgiri Mountain Railway. Ravi Rao is one of them. He tripped to Ooty in 2006 and was enthralled by its mesmerizing beauty.<\/p>\n<p>It wasn&#8217;t just traveling back to the colonial era or viewing the lush greenery dusted with alpine forests and colorful flowers. It wasn&#8217;t even the amazing weather. But it was the number of hours spent on the Nilgiri Mountain Rail that he loved the most on his trip to Ooty. Aren&#8217;t you green with envy?<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The Nilgiri Mountain Raiiway drives at a speed of 30 kilometres per hour in plains and at 15 kilometres an hour on a gradient. One of the second last hill station is Lovedale. It is located at 7200 feet over mean sea level.
