All run routes begin at Daria Daulat Bagh, the teakwood palace of Tipu Sultan dating back to when Srirangapatna was the seat of power of Mysore state. Runners on the 5K route will make their way through the river island that is Srirangapatna until they reach the Kaveri river...
The GHR Srirangapatna run T-shirt is representative of all things Tipu Sultan – his familiar headgear, his sword and tiger stripe motifs. Also on the run T-shirt and not quite representative of Tipu Sultan are a bunch of runners making their way across the river island of Srirangapatna!
"All the rockets in the world today can be traced to those used during the wars in Mysore," says aerospace scientist Professor Roddam Narasimha,DST year-of-science professor, engineering mechanics unit of Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research.
The best part of Go Heritage Runs is that we are a series. Which means that the destinations change, but some things will always stay same - scenic, historic routes, a great family friendly experience and a fun run-vacation. Keep in touch with us and take a run-vacation with us this year!
