Running at the Go Heritage Run – Hyderabad (powered by Hyderabad Runners) this June? This post has elevation information and notes on the sites of heritage significance along the route.

Go Heritage Run – Hyderabad: 5K Route

  • Start / Finish Point: Taramati Baradari
  • Elevation Information: Link
  • Start Timing: 6.00 AM

ghr-hyderabad-5k-route-elevationRunners on the 5K route will start from the Taramati Baradari, a 100-year old sarai built by one of the sultans of the Qutb Shahi dynasty and head east in the direction of Golconda Fort. Situated 2.5Kms into the route, it is one of India’s largest, most storied fort complexes. Runners will run along the periphery of the fort wall, past many curved roads with intricate doorways that were designed to fend off elephant attacks. They will then return to the Taramati Baradari.

Go Heritage Run – Hyderabad: 10K Route

  • Start / Finish Point: Taramati Baradari

  • Start Timing: 5.45 AM

ghr-hyderabad-10k-route-elevationRunners on the 10K route will start from the Taramati Baradari, a 100-year old sarai built by one of the sultans of the Qutb Shahi dynasty and head east in the direction of Golconda Fort. Situated 2.5Kms into the route, it is one of India’s largest, most storied fort complexes. Runners will run along the periphery of the fort wall, past many curved roads with intricate doorways that were designed to fend off elephant attacks. They will then head towards the Qutb Shahi Tombs. Located 5 kms into the route, this is the largest cluster of mausoleums in the Deccan region. Participants in the 10K event will turn around here and retrace their steps back to Taramati Baradari.

Go Heritage Run – Hyderabad: 21K Route  (two loops of the 10KM route)

  • Start / Finish Point: Taramati Baradari
  • Elevation Information: Link
  • Start Timing: 5.30 AM

Runners on the 21K route will start from the Taramati Baradari, a 100-year old sarai built by one of the sultans of the Qutb Shahi dynasty and head east in the direction of Golconda Fort. Situated 2.5Kms into the route, it is one of India’s largest, most storied fort complexes. Runners will run along the periphery of the fort wall, past many curved roads with intricate doorways that were designed to fend off elephant attacks. They will then head towards the Qutb Shahi Tombs. Located 5 kms into the route, this is the largest cluster of mausoleums in the Deccan region. Participants  will turn around here and retrace their steps back to Taramati Baradari, and then repeat this route a second time to complete 21KMs.
