GHR Hyderabad 2017 Run T-shirt

The design for the GHR Hyderabad 2017 Run t-shirt is inspired by the city’s rich cultural past. The rulers of the Qutb Shahi dynasty (1512-1687) built many of Hyderabad’s iconic heritage structures – the Charminar, Golconda Fort, Taramati Baradari and the Qutb Shahi Tombs. The Qutb Shahi Tombs were built and dedicated to the seven Qutub Shahi rulers and their families who ruled Golconda for nearly 170 years. The styles of the tombs are perhaps why thousands of tourists flock to see the resting places of these Golconda rulers. One will be able to see Hindu, Persian, Pathan and Deccan styles of architecture.

Architectural features  of the Qutb Shahi Tombs inspired much of the run T-shirt design. The arch, that classic Islamic architectural element visible all across the Qutb Shahi Tombs and the Taramati Baradari provides a backdrop against which heritage runners can be spotted. The arch also features an intricate Islamic style pattern – one derived from those visible in the inner chambers of the Qutb Shahi Tombs.
